State Fair of Texas

A few weeks ago was the last weekend for the Texas State Fair.  Geoff was out of town and the kids and I had free tickets so we decided to go!  I have fun memories growing up in Dallas and going to the fair and thought our kids would enjoy it too!  A few things I will remember for next year...don't take the kids alone...don't go on the last weekend...don't go on a Saturday.  It was so crowded!!  All in all, it was a good time and we enjoyed some beautiful weather!

We parked a few miles away and took a tram to the front gate - the kids were excited!

First things first...cotton candy!!  Brylie talked about it the whole drive there so we went straight to the booth and everyone was happy!

Love this girl!

I held them both up so they could watch the cotton candy machine :)

The ladies were laughing at Truett...he thought it was soft and warm like a pillow!

Big Tex!  Howdy Folks!

Corn dogs!

We watched a little of the PeeWee Stampede

Pet Elsie the Cow (Borden Milk mascot)

Checked out some livestock

We thought we were going to see some sheep races...

Turns out they were just showing them (kind of boring!)

They watched a longhorn take his bath :)

They we stumbled upon a little play area where the kids could climb on the John Deere tractors and hang out...we probably played here for an hour!  Yep, this is the fair kids! ;)

Sir...yes, sir would you mind moving your obnoxious, large neon gorilla so the kids can climb around?? ;)

They were in picture taking mode!

Fun times at the Fair!  Until next year! :)
