This year we decided to do something fun and meaningful with Valentine's Day and play "The Love Game"! Thank you very much to Terri (I totally stole this idea from her!!). We started off by talking about 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 with the kids to define what true love is (not a feeling, but an action).
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.8 Love never fails."
So each family member got a jar (thank you to Brylie who helped make the heart name tags!). Anytime this week that we have seen each other exhibit love we got a "kiss of kindness" in our jar. There were also a few times that we had to take one out ;) It has been fun this week to watch the kids working on being kind to each other and a good check for the grown ups too! :)
Brylie filled out 24 Valentine's Day cards for her class all by herself! I just had to put this on here because our girl is so clever and creative. She just decided to make a robot for an "I" in her name :) We love you Brys!
Happy Valentine's Day!! We love you two so very much!!
