Recycling at School

So I wanted to do a quick post about this because it is so funny to me and I want to remember this :) At Brylie's school, they have an official "green" status. So one of the things they do to help the environment and recycle is to re-use cards and paper in the nursery. After a holiday people bring in their cards for the kids to use in a craft. For example, after Christmas there were tons of cards that they cut up or painted on, etc. and then brought home :) They also use worksheets or papers that are printed extras from the upper school levels (one time Brylie had a drawing and on the back was someone's math homework from Year 2).

I took a picture of two of the recent cards Brylie has decorated. One is from somebody's 30th birthday party (random, cheers!)...another is an old Christmas card. Sometimes they cut out the personal message and sometimes they just leave it in (ie. "Sue, Happy Christmas to you and yours! XO Jane"). This is hilarious to me! But also, what a great idea! The nursery kids don't know any different and Brylie likes to pick the cards with colors she likes or a special design, etc. It is all just a fun art craft to them!

So here is one side of the card...(as a side note, everyone's significant other here is a "partner" so it is like a "super" boyfriend or girlfriend...people will be together as partners a long time before getting married...I know this is a random card and confusing!)

...and here is Brylie's art on the other! She made a collage of cars cut out from magazines on one and some tissue roses on the other :)
