"Keep Calm and Carry On"

This morning was Truett's first Playball class. This is a fun class for kids to learn sports skills. I would love for Brylie to do the class, but the times did not work out with her school. Since she doesn't start until Thursday she joined us just this once. Stressful!! It started off by raining the whole 35 minute walk there. Then Brylie and Truett ran all over the tennis courts while I tried to wrangle them in! Then Brylie calmed down and stayed on the sidelines to watch...very helpful because I ended up being very involved with Truett :)

Once I could get him to stay in the general vicinity of his class, he just wanted to roll around on the wet ground. They tried to get him to stand on his "shape" but he had no idea what he was doing :) He screamed and they asked me to "guide" him through this first class by holding his hand and just being near him. That helped! So we had some brief moments when he didn't realize I was not right behind him and I could go take a quick picture...but as soon as he saw I wasn't there he lost it!! The coach said not to worry, just stick with it and he will get used to it. I guess overall, it could have gone a lot worse! Although there was a brief moment when Brylie was crying and screaming that she was hungry and tired and wanted to go home and hanging on my leg while I was trying to hold a crying and screaming Truett on his "shape" - this led to me wanting to cry and scream and just go home :) Hence the "keep calm and carry on" motto for the morning! :)

All that being said, next week Brylie will be in school and I think he will do much better after being more familiar with the structure of the class, etc.! Not sure how he will do when the Moms have to leave though...we'll see! I am proud of our big boy though for doing this - it was totally new to him and he did participate a lot more than I expected! :)

Excited and following big sis...carrying his snack for half time :)

Checking out the equipment

Class is getting started and Truett is sitting on the ground :)

Right before they asked Mommy to help him through the class!

Good job standing on your shape Truett!

A little hesitant...

I think he is smiling? :)

They were pretending to be airplanes and running around. I guess Truett took it seriously when they kept telling him to stay on his shape! Also note the little boy on the right with his Mom. She was doing the same thing I was, so we were not alone!

Half time!

Playball stamp...first class completed!

The playball boys! We are so glad Chris is in his class too! Adam is in the older kids class :)
